Leadership & Executive Development

Enhancing leadership skills and expanding mindsets for executives at all levels

About Coaching

At M@W, we are able to meet your needs. For some it may mean development, leadership, or executive coaching. For others it may mean working with pairs or teams, and for some, coaching on an organizational level will assist the transformation of change. With training from the Coaches Training Institute and CRR Global, we are educated, trained, and prepared for the job whether the work is with front line staff, middle management teams, senior executives, key stakeholders, or all of the above. Our expertise in meeting your clients where they are and helping them align with organizational goals will serve both them and their organization.

What's Our Style?

Our style of coaching is aimed at promoting the ongoing self-directed learning, professional development, and personal growth of the client. It is geared toward asking the right questions, not simply giving people answers. It is a process focusing on constructing lasting solutions and goal attainment, not simply assessing where the problems came from. It is a process geared toward reaching higher levels of awareness and skill that can be applied to all the different areas of one’s life.

Emotional Intelligence

Effectively understanding oneself and the impact your behavior has on others; the ability to manage ones own behavior; and access, express and use emotions in a productive way.

Social Intelligence

Building on emotional intelligence, social intelligence includes effectively interacting with others while accurately identifying their emotions; employing empathy; gaining cooperation; and understanding and implementing social cues.

Relationship Systems Intelligence

Incorporating emotional and social intelligence, this level of awareness includes recognizing oneself as a part of something bigger than just the interactions with others; recognizing the larger paradigm systemically.

Leadership Coaching

Executive Coaching is a personalized approach to growing and developing leaders that starts by meeting them where they are and collaboratively creating a path toward where they want to get to. Coaching is based on their specific strengths, goals, and challenges. It strategically targets individuals to raise their game exponentially with one-on-one access to insights, uncovering blindspots, identifying resources, and strengthening commitment and accountability.

Group Coaching

Group coaching is a powerful and effective coaching technique for working with people to improve their health, wellbeing, personal strengths, self-efficacy, leadership qualities, team building, and beyond (Armstrong et al., 2013; McDowall & Butterworth, 2014).

To effect real change in any organization, both individuals and groups must have a good understanding of the organization and systemic awareness, recognizing that individual decisions can have broad impacts. Attending sessions with peers can open the individual to awareness of that bigger picture.

While the aim of coaching is typically to effect change in individuals, team or group coaching has the additional challenge of handling group-based dynamics by putting in place interpersonal and rapport-building skills (Brown & Grant, 2009).

Workshop Facilitation

We facilitate workshops by providing objective guidance for a group to reach an intended goal, through co-creation and purposeful dialogue. Active listening lends to our ability to scoop up related and important blindspot elements along the way, bringing greater awareness and augmented results. Our facilitators help with problem solving and decision making for the organization’s best outcome.

(I/O) Industrial-Organizational Psychology Consulting

What is I-O?

Industrial and organizational psychology (also known as I/O psychology, work psychology, or personnel psychology) is the scientific study of employees, workplaces, and organizations. I/O psychologists contribute to an organization’s success by improving the performance and well-being of its people. An I/O psychologist researches and identifies how behaviors and attitudes can be improved through hiring practices, training programs, and feedback systems, and measures behavior to determine best placement of individuals within an organizations culture and hierarchy. Rigor and methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, and work-life balance.

Momentum@Work’s I/O Psychology consulting capabilities include the following customized services:

Selection & Promotion Processes

We provide custom services for selection and promotional processes including:

Job Analysis & Competency Modeling

The first step in hiring or promoting employees is to understand exactly what is the job they are being considered for and what competencies are needed to be most successful in that job. This is the foundation from where all other personnel matters flow from. By understanding the job and the competency model, decisions can be made related to hiring, training and development, promotions, succession planning, and more.

Emotional Intelligence Assessment & Workshops

Performance Management Systems

Critical to the organizational environment and the career development of employees, performance management is a communication process designed to plan, implement, monitor and review objectives and contributions so that there is transparency and understanding amongst all appropriate layers of an organization and everyone is working toward shared goals. Performance management impacts selection, promotion, collaboration, planning, coaching, and training and is a critical part of the development of Human Resources as well as the functioning of organizational intelligence.

This combination of coaching and consulting is highly effective for:

About Our Founder

Allison Brenner

CEO

Thanks for visiting Momentum@Work, LLC. I am really excited to launch the newest version of this company and appreciate your interest. Whether you need a consultant or a coach, it is an excellent idea to get a feel for a few different professionals in your search for the right match. I hope sharing some about me helps you in your decision.

Growing up in New York, I was always fascinated with why people make the choices they make and behave the way they do. To begin to find those answers I attended S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook and studied Psychology and Socio-legal Studies. During my time in school, I volunteered as a counselor for a community peer group organization, worked in a marital research clinic and furthered deepened my interest in helping people make choices to live their best lives.

After graduation, I attended Antioch University earning a Masters in Clinical Psychology. After a few years as a psychotherapist, I chose to return to school to pursue a doctoral degree in I/O Psychology so that I could have a valuable impact on organizations and companies through many people at one time. For 24 years I have worked as a consultant for private industry, federal and local government through the study and measurement of behavior, assessing and developing organizations, and improving workplace processes.  As my career in this field blossomed, I kept finding myself wanting to provide something a little more personal; a little more spiritual. In my search, I obtained a Level 1 certificate from the Spirit School for the Intuitive Arts. I then further honed my skills by receiving education, training and certification from the premier coaching school, The Coaches Training Institute. Once certified, I became credentialed by the International Coach Federation and further deepened my skills through CRRGlobal with training in Organizational and Relationship Systems Coaching. Our coaching practice (working with individuals privately as well as through organizations) has added more pieces to consulting and psychology that I love the most.

Connecting with clients and helping them improve their organizations through human technology—be it assessing, selecting, promoting, retaining, or developing personnel—or through increasing self and social awareness, and teaching skills and techniques in self and relationship management, is what I consider a dream of a job.

After time in NY, CA and VA, I am happy to be living in Austin, TX. I really enjoy spending time with my family, boating and water sports, attending live music events and theatre, participating in volunteer work; and traveling to warm climates (and I won’t sneeze at a good spa day either).
